Plant Mechanical Works Enquiries

We accept enquiries about plant mechanical works. Send us the equipment involved, the scope of work and the operating conditions.

Equipment, pipework and maintenance access

  1. Equipment layout

Review foundations, delivery routes and maintenance needs for vessels and heat exchangers.

  2. Utility connections

Coordinate pumps, headers and branches with equipment connections.

  3. Access routes

Review valve operation and component-removal space alongside pipe supports.

Points to cover in your enquiry

  • Fluids and piping conditions

Review conditions for plant piping depend on the fluid it carries, such as water or air, and on operating temperature and pressure. Pipe materials, joint types, valves and supports must be checked against equipment specifications. These are review items; the actual scope is agreed according to the equipment and the qualifications it requires.

  • Equipment connections, delivery and maintenance space

Replacing a pump or heat exchanger means looking at connection positions and the delivery route together. The pipes may connect and still leave too little room to remove a motor or operate a valve. Equipment outline drawings, connection dimensions, weight and maintenance clearances form the review information.

  • Replacement in operating facilities

First set the time available for shutdown, how work areas will be isolated and the order of connections to existing systems. Dividing the pipework into sections that can be prefabricated and sections made after site measurement clarifies the materials and tasks needed. Shutdown and restart conditions must be agreed with the facility operator.

Site example

Replacing piping around a factory circulating water pump

An example in which circulating water pipework is replaced during a partial factory shutdown. It does not describe plant work completed by the company.

  1. Site conditions

Assume the old pump and its connecting pipes are replaced while other production areas keep running. Whether the system can be isolated is reviewed with the operator first.

  2. Preparation

Check the position and size of existing connections, the pump delivery route and the space for operating valves. Based on site measurements, divide the work into sections to prefabricate and sections to adjust on site.

  3. Work planning

Isolation and checks for residual energy are planned under site safety procedures. Decide who handles removal, delivery, connection and testing, in what order, and agree the conditions for approving restart.

  4. Example outputs

A list of connections, drawings of prefabricated sections, a materials list and the shutdown and restoration sequence. Materials and test conditions are set to suit the fluid and equipment specifications.
